Worried about the high debt profile inherited from the previous government, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, says his administration has offset a debt of over 30 billion Naira.
The Governor said this at the inaugural meeting of the state’s new Executive Council in Bauchi State.
It is the first Executive Council meeting since its inauguration after the dissolution of the previous cabinet.
While presiding over the meeting, Governor Mohammed congratulated the new cabinet, calling on them to use their wealth of experience to complement the government efforts of freeing resources towards the provision of infrastructural and human capital development.
According to him, despite the limited resources, his administration is paying over one billion Naira in offsetting the accumulated debt profile inherited.
On the issue of security, the Governor asked the cabinet to make a positive contribution through collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to guarantee sustainable peace and economic development across the state.
He assured the citizens of the government’s determination to improve the well-being of the people in both the rural and urban areas.
