Ghanaian Government implements new COVID-19 Policy, here's what it is about

Shortly after easing the lockdown in one of Africa’s biggest economy, Ghana, the Ghanaian government has implemented a new policy to help curb the spread of the pandemic while enabling residents to resume commerce and businesses. The wearing of face masks in public areas has been made compulsory.

This new policy was announced in a press briefing in Accra yesterday, Tuesday, 5th of May by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information. He said that all public places and offices must implement a ‘No face mask, No entry’ in their premises starting yesterday.

Ghana has already expanded their COVID-19 virus testing abilities beyond Accra and Kumasi and the government has promised that by the end of this month, May, all regions in Ghana would be able to conduct testing for the COVID 19 virus.

Ghana has confirmed 2719 cases of the COVID-19 virus and has recorded 18 deaths.
