Ghana is now the second most peaceful country in Africa right after Mauritius on the 2021 Global Peace Index report by the IEP (Institute for Economics and Peace).
The report based on 23 qualitative and quantitative measures including the level of Societal Safety and Security, Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict and degree of Militarization
Globally, Ghana ranks 38th, followed closely by Botswana at the 41st spot while Mauritius ranked 28th. The MENA however, took the award for the least peaceful in the region but improved greatly over the last year.
Europe remains the most peaceful region in the world!
