Ethiopia’s only Telecommunications Company, Ethio Telecom has a new CEO and it’s none other than Frehiwot Tamiru. She is taking over from the longtime head, Dr Andualem Admassie.
Tamiru is the current board member and CEO of her own IT organization, Doxa IT Technology PLC. Tamiru was officially invited by the current Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed.
An MBA Graduate of the Open University UK, and an Information Systems Graduate of the Addis Ababa University. Tamiru appears to have the necessary skills to take up the new role managing over 22,000 workers at the communications firm.
