Late President, Idriss Déby who died after fatal injuries on Tuesday has been laid to rest in a funeral ceremony today in Ndjamena.
Deby, who has now been succeeded by his son in an interim transitional military government for 18 months, served as President for 30 years and managed to hold on to power despite severe opposition.
He, unfortunately, passed away a few days after securing his sixth term as president while visiting Chadian troops.
Several world leaders have poured in tributes to mourn his passing. Deby was a known force in the fight against security threats in the Sahel region.
As part of the funeral rites, Deby will be honoured with a 21-gun salute.
