Veteran Ngozi Nwosu was one of those that luckily escaped the violence that erupted at the APC campaign rally in Lagos on Tuesday.

You will recall that about three journalists and several others including a NURTW official, MC Oluomo sustained injuries from stabs and gunshots at the event.

In an exclusive interview with Plus TV Africa on Tea Time, Ngozi said “I was at the rally and everything was going fine until the miscreants attacked. I had to run for my life and it is sad that Nigerian politics is this way.

The miscreants attacked because their targets were in the rally, just because they were after one person, they turned the rally into a violence spree, injuring many and it is so sad”

The APC in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, blamed the tragic incident on the disagreement between two factions of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.

He, however, insisted that the APC was in no way involved in it.

Also reacting, the Lagos state Police force, in its statement declared a certain Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, who is a prominent member of NURTW, wanted for speerheading the violence.

The force urged members of the public with useful information on his whereabout to report such at the nearest police station.
