Controversial Empire Actor, Jussie Smollett has just a few hours ago been indicted on 16 felony counts for reporting a hoax to the Chicago Police by a Grand Jury in Cook County.
Smollett, a gay artist had earlier reported to have been harrassed by 2 homophobic strangers, however investigations into the matter have indicated otherwise that Smollett may have engineered the attacks as a publicity stunt.
Smollett, on the other hand, maintained his innocence even though circumstances surrounding his arraignment shows otherwise.
Each of the count carries a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison alongside a $25,000 fine.
