Ailing Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, was on Friday taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on a wheelchair.
The 60-year-old arrived the hospital in company of executives of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) who facilitated the admission with the assistance of the Federal Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, joining the teeming supporters who have been donating towards his treatment for an undisclosed ailment, is London-based Prophetess Rev Mrs Esther Ajayi aka Iya Adura.
She has donated N10million for his treatment abroad.
In a post on Instagram, the Love Of Christ Generation Church wrote:
“IYAADURA SUPPORTS BABA SUWE With TEN MILLION NAIRA(10million naira)
Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi having been briefed on the current situation of Baba Suwe after SOS was initiated to her thru @abbeyway27 and @bayowagbengaadewusiswagatv PAID the Sum of TEN MILLION NAIRA this Monday morning with total cost of his flight ticket to add support to efforts on ground, for medical assistance quickly. IyaAdura is out of the country but has spoken to Baba Suwe and offered prayers.”
This is in addition to the N1million donated by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
Baba Suwe revealed that he is battling an undisclosed ailment.
Last week, the actor confirmed his health challenges in a 2019 interview where he lamented the worsening state of his health,
He added that he is currently walking with the aid of a stick.
Currently at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH)Baba Suwe was taken there last Friday at the request of the minister of health, Prof Adewole, who demanded first class treatment for the actor.
