Federal government of Nigeria and the 36 governors have reached an agreement on the proposed plan to sell off the five National Integrated Power Projects (NIPPs).
The Director-General (DG), Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Alex Okoh said the agreement has set the stage for the sale of five power plants.
Okoh said the expected N260 billion proceeds from the sale will go into next year’s fiscal plan.
According to the BPE boss, the bidding process for the plants could reach the final stage before the end of this year, with the pact coming after the governors’ initial opposition.
