Airlines and Regulators are currently in a closed-door summit in Montreal to determine the next steps to ensure Boeing’s Max 737 return to airspace is safe and coordinated.
The meeting was organized by industry trade group International Air Transport Association (IATA). IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac disclosed that builidng trust amongst regulators and improving coordination would be the priorities at the summit.
Boeing Max 737 had within the last one year been involved in two ghastly crashes leaving no survivors in its wake, as a result the model was grounded in many countries to ensure safety of passengers, an estimated 400 737 Max Jets were grounded lasting 3 months.
The effect was enormous for the company as some contracts were recalled and the company’s shares dropped as a result of the mishap.
