An estimated 117 people have been confirmed dead from the effects of the tropical cyclone that struck in Indonesia based on reports from a local official.

The Nusa Tenggara Province Deputy Governor, Josef Nae Soi, disclosed that helicopters will be deployed to those areas that are still in isolation such as the Kupang District.

He made the declaration over a virtual news conference with the National Disaster Management Agency.

Evacuees are now living in rented houses, but 45 people are still nowhere to be found.
