The Lagos State Government has ordered the shutdown of several event centres for flouting COVID-19 guidelines as the second wave continues to gain momentum.
Some of the affected facilities include Buzz Bar, Silverfox, Cocoon, Westend Nightclub, Rumours Night Club, Landmark Event Centre, and a couple of others.
According to Lanre Mojola, the DG of the Lagos State Safety Commission, all the sanctioned centres will be charged to court once the documentation has been fully processed.
Recall that barely a few weeks away, Cubana in the GRA area of Ikeja was shut down on similar grounds. Also, more recently, 20 doctors reportedly lost their lives to the coronavirus. The second wave of COVID-19 has been circulating widely and Lagos State remains the epicentre of the disease.
All and sundry have been advised to engage in social distancing measures such as handwashing, sanitizing, and wearing of nose masks.
