Premier League clubs will meet on Thursday to hold talks over an FA proposal that would require the reduction of the number of foreign players in squads to deal with Brexit.

At the moment, the Premier League rules stipulate that clubs can have up to 17 foreign players in their 25-man squad, that number is set to be reduced to 12, which will give room for homegrown players to increase to 13.

At the meeting, the 20 clubs will consider a number of other issues, with the future use of the VAR expected to be top on the agenda.
