Barely two days after defeating the United States Olympic Basketball Team, Nigeria’s D’Tigers blew away Argentina 94 – 71 in an exhibition game at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas to make a statement of intent ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

After a slow start, which saw Argentina take a five-point lead in the first quarter, D’Tigers clawed back their way into the contest to open a ten-point lead at halftime.

The Nigerian side never looked back finishing the match with a 24-point margin.

Detriot Pistons centre, Jahil Okafor, topped the score with 15 points.

Miami heats, Precious Achiuwa, Sacramento Kings, Chimezie Metu, and Timberwolves, Josh Okogie, also got double digits combining for 32 points.

Nigeria will face Australia next on Wednesday their Group B opponent in the men’s basketball event in Tokyo.
