Bandits adduct 8 Islamiyya pupils, 1 teacher in fresh bandit attack in Katsina state

Suspected bandits have launched a fresh attack in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State. This time, eight Islamiyya pupils and one of their teachers were abducted from a location called Ungwar Sakkai.

Faskari, which is one of the Frontline Local Government Areas bedevilled by the activities of bandits, has the Nigeria Army Super Camp 4 located there.

According to a Non-Governmental Organization worker in the area, the incident occurred Tuesday night, while the abductees were in a session.

He added that upon a visit to the school, they were told that sporadic gunshots were heard as the bandits forcefully abducted the pupils and the teacher on their motorcycles.

When contacted for comments and confirmation as of the time of filing this report, the police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, did not respond to phone calls, neither did he return any.

The attack is coming less than 48 hours after four persons were killed, seven injured, while 17 others were abducted in Tsayau Village, of Mallamawa Ward, in Jibiya Local Government Area of the state.
