2018 Ballon d’Or winner, Ada Hegerberg has turned down a chance to feature for her country, Norway at this summer’s Women’s World Cup.
The Olympique Lyonnais striker has not played for her country since their 2017 dismal European Championship, where they failed to score a goal.
Her continuous boycott of national team duties is due to her frustrations towards the Norwegian Football Federation and the state of the women’s game in Norway.
Ada Hegerberg’s sister, Andrine, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain is also absent from the 23-player squad.
Norway are drawn in group A and will kick off their World Cup campaign on the 8th of June against Nigeria.
