Arsenal Female team prepare for Women's League Quarter-Final Match

The race for European glory may have ended for Manchester United and Manchester City, who both crashed out of the UEFA champions league and Europa League respectively. But Arsenal ladies are keeping English hopes alive in Europe this season as they prepare for their Women’s Champions League quarter-final match against French giants PSG ladies.

The North London Club will take on Paris Saint-Germain on the 22nd of August, and a win will further England’s bid of a European title this season. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who were favorites to advance was in limbo, after a shock 3-1 defeat by Olympique Lyonnais in the quarter-final round of the Champions League while Manchester United crashed out of Europa League, losing 2-1 to five-time Europa League champions Sevilla, after a wasteful night from United’s end, on Sunday in Cologne.

With the Gunners’ 22- year-old playmaker, Vivianne Miedema, who is currently one of the biggest goal threats in the world, breaking her country’s goal-scoring record and also winning the Women’s Super League Golden Boot in the last two seasons, Arsenal certainly could add another European trophy to its cabinet, having been the only English team to have won the Champions League in 2006/07.

Arsenal made a return to Europe after 6 years this season. Although they are not favorites in the tournament with Lyon, Wolfsburg, and Barcelona still in the competition, Joe Montemurro will be looking to keep the English flag flying high in Europe.
