The Nigerian Army says it requires actionable, intelligent, and accurate reports from the people to curb the menace of insecurity in the country.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, said this when he visited Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, before an official tour of military formations in the state, including the Joint Task Force and the 16 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

He said there was a need for continued synergy between security agencies and the public to arrest the current insecurity across the country.

Governor Diri told the visiting Army Chief he is deeply concerned about the spate of insecurity but said Bayelsa is a home of peace and he is determined to keep it that way.

The Governor also pledged to maintain the existing cordial relationship with the military to ensure peace reigns in Bayelsa State.
