The Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the Trade Fair Complex in Kaduna State, was disrupted for alleged anti-party activities.

Some of the aggrieved members of the party who described the conduct of the congress as unfortunate said the party should learn from its mistake.

It was 10 am on Saturday, when members of the PDP from the Northwest converged on the Trade Fair Complex in Kaduna, to choose their executives.

Many people drummed support for their candidates with traffic gridlock every where.

The expectation was high, as party faithful were optimistic that the congress would be conducted in an orderly manner.

Not quite long after the voting began, what started as a peaceful process became disrupted.

Ballot boxes were smashed, and on the floor were ballot papers littered with glasses, an act that has been described as unfortunate.

The Chairman of the  Organising Committee described the situation as a misunderstanding among party members.

He said the party will have to postpone the congress for another day.

How soon the PDP will conduct the congress without another round of chaos is now the litmus test for the party.
