Following the police assault on a reporter with the Africa Independent Television, AIT, by the Police Rapid Response team in Bauchi State, the Nigeria Police Bauchi State Command has condemned the unprofessional conduct of the team.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Sylvester, ordered for full payment of the medical bills of the victim, Damina Yusuf, as well as payment of all that he lost during the protest.
The statement hinted that a three-man committee has been set up to investigate the earring police officers.
The Police Commissioner equally ordered for the disbandment of the present squad and that fresh officers with good track records should replace them.
