Air Peace receives new Embraer 195-E2 jet to widen operations

Air Peace airline has welcomed the fourth of 13 brand new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft as part of its fleet expansion programme.

The new aircraft, the fourth of such in scheduled commercial operations in Nigeria, is seen as a game-changer for the local industry that has always been dependent on used equipment and dubbed high-risk.

The arrival of the brand new Embraer 195-E2 is the fourth out of 13 to be received by Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s leading airline operators, at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja. This is coming three months after the arrival of the third aircraft.

The Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyeama, is optimistic that the new jet will strengthen the company’s drive to deploy the right kinds of planes for under-served domestic and regional routes as part of its no-city-left-behind project. `

Captains of the aviation industry, top government officials, and foreign investors who were on the ground to receive the new aircraft commended the airline operator over its commitment to efficiency, safety, and expansion to meet international best standards.

Besides the 13 aircraft purchased by Air Peace so far, 17 more purchase rights are expected to be completed and received in Nigeria before the end of 2022 towards creating jobs for 17,000 Nigerians.

The aircraft which have all purchase rights and contracts valued at over 640.5 billion Naira have 124 seats each in dual-class and 154-seater in single class configurations.

Air Peace currently operates more than 16 domestic routes, five regional routes, and two international destinations, one of which is South Africa, launched in December 2020.

The airline also boasts of a fleet size of 26 aircraft and is steadily expanding its fleet.
