Again! Gunmen attack another community in Ebonyi State

Another village in Ebonyi State, Umuogudu Akpu -Ngbo community in Ohaukwu Council Area has been attacked by unknown gunmen, less than two weeks after a similar gruesome attack on some communities of Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

Sources said that the attack occurred on Sunday evening.

It was gathered that many houses were razed down but casualties are yet to be determined.

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Stanley Okoro Emegha, who confirmed the attack on a telephone conversation, said the actual people responsible have not been established.

Emegha, however, hinted that suspected herdsmen and the Agila people of Benue State are said to be involved, adding that the attacked villagers were before now having hostilities with the Agila people.

Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Aliyu who also confirmed the attack said that he was yet to be briefed by his subordinates.
