The Benue State government has yet again initiated moves to broker peace between the crisis-ridden communities of Ukpute and Bonta of Oju and Konshisha Local Councils of the state.

The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, led other top government functionaries as well as representatives of areas to meet with critical stakeholders of the two affected communities.

The lingering crisis between the Ukpute and Bonta Communities of Oju and Konshisha Local Councils which have claimed several lives including military operatives caught up in the crossfire has left even leaders of the state quite helpless.

After several deliberate attempts to bring the crisis to an end, a different strategy was adopted by the state government.

It decided to meet the communities in their domain first was the turn of Bonta. The government delegation then proceeded to the Ukpute community leaders of Oju.

The deliberation rounded off in Aliade town where both communities resolved to end the protracted crisis.
