The Australian bushfire that has left three people dead and burnt over 200 homes is not slowing down and so is Kat Robinson-Williams, a 14 weeks pregnant lady who has refused to be left behind.
The 23-year-old pregnant volunteer has defended her decision to keep fighting against the bushfires claiming she is still in a position to do so and furthermore has got an all-clear from her doctor as long as she wears the right equipment.
Ms Robinson -Williams who comes from a long line of volunteer firefighters says it runs in the blood as her mother and grandmother have long been volunteer firefighters and still do, moreover she has also been firefighting with the New South Wales Rural Fire Services for 11 years.
That’s not all, her spouse is a firefighter and so are her in-laws, so for those who have expressed concern over her condition, Kat has this to say:
“I’m not the first pregnant firefighter and I’m not going to be the last one,” “I’m still in a position where I’m able to help so I will.”
