Nigeria’s Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has called for the appellate court to review the sackings of Governor Abba Yusuf and Governor Caleb Mutfwang, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to conduct proper elections. Falana argued that the courts should not nullify votes due to electoral umpire negligence and that thousands of votes should not be invalidated due to INEC officials failing to stamp ballot sheets. The court sacked three governors in opposition parties, including Yusuf and Mutfwang, and ordered INEC to conduct fresh elections in Zamfara and Lagos.
