The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has called for effective partnership in the fight against drug abuse particularly among youths in Nigeria.
Zonal Commander of the agency in charge of Zone ‘C’ Minna, Niger State, Yahaya Aliyu made the call in Ilorin the Kwara State capital, during a meeting with Principals of Secondary Schools in the State.
While giving an overview of the agency’s efforts in the ongoing fight against substance abuse, the Zonal Commander said his agency is currently enlightening students and the general public on the dangers of drug abuse.
The commander noted that the State Command of the NDLEA has trained about twenty-one persons who were previous victims of substance abuse on various skill acquisitions to keep them relevant when they are finally re-integrated into the society
The agency says a drug-free society is possible, only if there is cooperation among the key stakeholders at all levels.
