Lack of requisite education and academic qualifications are the reasons why majority of people with disabilities, PWDs, are unable to secure competitive jobs in the labour market.
In line with this, government at all levels have been urged to provide grants and the necessary funding to help children and young adults with special needs, to be integrated into the society and live valuable lives.
This advice was given by the founder of The Autism Awareness Foundation, Omotoke Ayo-Olugbode, at the end of a training to educate and empower young adults with disabilities, who are often stigmatised and lack jobs.
Ayo-Olugbode and other facilitators tasked government to provide infrastructure and mobility aids that will make lives easier for PWDs.
