Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has disclosed plans to set up an investigative committee to verify the true identity of those who settled in the Kontagora Emirate in the last five years and acquired landed properties.
Bello stated this when he paid Sallah homage to the Sarkin Sudan Kontagora, HRH Muhammadu Barau Muazu II, at his Palace in Kontagora, Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.
He explained that the verification exercise has become necessary to rid the Emirate of informants and kidnappers, adding that the committee will be under the leadership of Mai Sudan.
The Governor also reminded the people of the demolition exercise of houses built on Kontagora Dam waterways, as the state government compensated residents of the affected buildings.
