The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that it will probe the suspension of its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, at the ward level.
The party executive at Igyorov ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, on Sunday, suspended Ayu over alleged anti-party activities.
The Secretary of the party at the ward, Vangeryina Dooyum, in a statement signed by 12 out of the 17 members of the ward executive, announced Ayu’s suspension on behalf of the ward chairman, Kashi Philip, at a media briefing on Sunday.
Reacting to the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba in an interview said the national leadership of the party was shocked and surprised to receive the news. He added that the party will verify the true state of affairs that led to the suspension of the national chairman and react accordingly.
