Nigerian table tennis legend, Aruna Quadri, will on Thursday battle young Japanese star Tomikazu Harimoto in the round of 16 of the ongoing men’s singles at the 2023 WTT Singapore Smash.
Quadri had earlier beat the French teenager Alexis Lebrun 3-2 in a keenly intriguing game after he won the decisive set 11-7.
The Nigerian, who has lost twice to his Japanese counterpart, Tomokazu Harimoto hopes to end is winless streak against the Japanese.
Aruna has acknowledged the difficulty with playing against Harimoto but is hopeful, saying he believes that every player has an equal chance to win the title irrespective of their world ranking.
