British Prime Minister has defended the government’s proposals to stop almost all migrants ever claiming asylum.

Sunak said during a session of prime minister’s questions that stopping the small boats crossing the Channel was not just one of his government’s priorities, but the ‘people’s priority’.

The new legislation is the latest in a series of contentious immigration policies put forward by the Conservative government under successive prime ministers aimed at stopping people arriving on England’s coast by small boats.

Last year, the government announced a plan to send some of them to Rwanda.
