One person has reportedly been shot dead while some corps members sustained different degrees of injuries during the presidential and national assembly elections held in Delta State.
Just as the collation of the presidential results continue at The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office at the State headquarters in Asaba, as the commencement of the announcement of presidential election result at The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office at the Delta State headquarters in Asaba.
Speaking to our Asaba correspondent Akpomejero Friday, Mr. of the challenges experienced by the commission, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Rev. Monday Udom Tom said, the driver conveying INEC staff with electoral materials in Ukwani Local Government Area on Saturday night refused to stop at security checkpoint.
On his part the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Edafe Bright who confirmed the incident to journalists said the incidents happened on their way after the elections.
Bright said investigation is ongoing on the issue to fish out the security personnel to face the full wrath of the law.
