Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz battled past Serbian Dusan Lajovic to advance to the semi-finals of the Rio Open on Friday night (February 24) in Brazil.
Defending champion Alcaraz rallied from a break down twice and saved a set point to overcome the hard-charging Lajovic 6-4 7-6(0) and punch his ticket to a semi-final matchup with Chilean Nicolas Jarry.
In the lower half of the bracket, second seed Cameron Norrie also advanced to the semi-finals with his 4-6 6-1 6-4 win over Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien.
