President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a 14-man steering committee to address the problem in the supply and distribution of petroleum products in the country.

The Steering Committee is headed by the president with the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, as the alternative chairman.

Confirming the development in a statement, Sylva said the committee would ensure transparent and efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country.

The minister also directed the agency responsible to ensure strict compliance with the government-approved ex-depot and retail prices for petrol.
