The Supreme Court of Nigeria has granted reprieve to jailed Senator Peter Nwaoboshi by reversing the hearing date in the appeal challenging his seven years imprisonment for alleged corruption.
The hearing date for his appeal against the conviction was slated for November 24, 2024, but now fixed to February 9, 2023, by the apex court following an application to that effect.
Nwaoboshi, through his counsel, Kanu Agabi SAN, had made a passionate appeal to the Supreme Court to fast-track the hearing of his case against his imprisonment.
The senator, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, was convicted on a two-count charge of fraud and money laundering
