Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Benue State Prays For Lost Heroes To Mark Celebration

The Activities for this year’s Armed forces Remembrance day and appeal for funds has commenced in Benue state with an interdenominational church service Organized by the Benue state Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria in conjunction with Benue state Government.

The service which was held at the Cherubim and Seraphim church movement in makurdi , Benue state was dominated by prayers for those who fought Nigeria to be an indivisible Nation, divine protection over members of the Nigerian Armed forces and other para-military and the families of the Ex- Service men among others.

Our correspondent francis Ter reports that the Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian Armed forces in sacrificing their lives for the peace of the Nation.

Represented by the state Deputy Governor, Eng Bensen Abounu urged the Armed forces to employ high level of equity, fairness and justice to protect the country.

In his remark, the Benue state CAN chairman, Rev Dr Ankpen Leva enjoined Nigerians to pray for the forth-coming General Election to succeed.

The church service was attended by top military and para-militray officers and some ex-service men.
