One person has been reported dead in the Ojota area of Lagos State following a clash between Yoruba Nation agitators and operatives of the Lagos State Police Command.
It was learnt that the Yoruba Nation agitators had gathered for a rally in the area without obtaining a permit from the police.

This was said to have led to the deployment of police operatives to the Ojota area.

It was reported that as members of the group gathered, some allegedly attacked a vehicle, allegedly leading to the intervention of the policemen, who had been deployed.
The police operatives were reported to have fired gunshots into the area, with a stray bullet hitting one of the agitators.

He died on the spot.

The agitators, who outnumbered the policemen initially on ground, burnt one of their patrol vehicles.
