Athletics: Tobi Named Africa’s Best Female Athlete

The Confederation of African Athletics has named Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan as Africa’s Best Female Athlete for the Year 2022.

Tobi , winner at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where she set a record and also the World Championships in Oregon, where she set a new World Record of 12.12seconds in the Hurdles event .

She also won gold again at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, before retaining her Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in a new meet record of 12.29s.

Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon and Ethiopia’s Letesenbet Gidey, who are both world champions in the 1500m and 1000m were ranked second and third respectively behind Amusan, who has enjoyed a phenomenal year.
