A Federal High Court in Abuja has kicked out a House of Representatives member, Honourable Chris Azubogu from the Senatorial race.
Before the court ruling, Azubogu was the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Anambra South Senatorial District.
The federal lawmaker was sacked from the senatorial race on grounds of his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when in June this year he stood for the primary election under APGA.
Delivering the judgement, Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that the lawmaker violated sections 65 and 68 of the 1999 Constitution by not first cross-carpeting from the PDP to APGA before participating in the primary election of APGA.
