The Pentagon press secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday that the U.S. was closely monitoring the “covert supply of artillery shells” by North Korea to Russia for its war in Ukraine.
White House National Security spokesperson John Kirby said last week that North Korea was attempting to obscure the shipments by funneling them through countries in the Middle East and North Africa, and that Washington was monitoring to see whether the shipments were received.
North Korea on Tuesday denied it ever had arms dealings with Russia and said it had no plans to do so, its state media reported.
