Protesters from a German climate protest group climbed Berlin’s landmark Brandenburg Gate where they hung a banner from the top calling for survival chances for everyone.
The action carried out by two sisters who belong to the ‘Letzte Generation’ (last generation group), according to the group, it is a plea to the government to react more strongly to the climate crisis.
In a press statement, last generation group is calling on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to meet on Thursday to discuss the group’s climate demands.
The group has said they will continue to protest until the government meets with them. The protest action comes as the 27th annual climate conference (COP27) takes place in Egypt.
