Impersonation: Former Red Cross Arrested For Extorting Money From Unsuspecting Victims

A former staff of Red Cross international. Ahmed Aliyu has been arrested by the men of 23rd Armoured Brigade Yola for impersonation.

The suspect was arrested in Guyuk Local government of Adamawa State while extorting money from innocent citizens with a promise to facilitate their recruitment into the Nigerian army.

Parading the suspect to newsmen, the Officer Commanding, Provost Company, Major Muhammed Gumel confirmed that the suspect was faking to be a military captain before his arrest.

He said the accused confessed to duping people from Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba States with a promise to recruit them into the army.

Major Gumel however alerted the public that recruitment into the military is free, urging Nigerians to always report whoever demands money for such exercise.
