The Federal High court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to the 7th of December 2022 for Judgement on the suit filled by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state against Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC,) Accord and its State Assembly candidates for alleged non-compliance to the new electoral act while conducting their primaries.
When the case was mentioned, counsel to Accord, Abdulhameed Muhammed in his argument to adopt his written address said the plaintiff PDP failed to identify the constituencies of the defendants amongst others errors and thereby asked the court to dismiss the suit for lacking in merit.
In his defence, counsel to PDP, Emmanuel Ukala argued the adoptions of the counsel to the defendants and asked the court to adopt its prayers.
On his part, the governorship candidate of Accord, Dumo Lulu Briggs who was in court berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for meddling into other party’s affair .
He said the action of PDP was targeted at ensuring they do not contest against any opponent in the 2023 general elections.
DUMO also express concern about the Poor state government response towards the flood ravage areas and the victim condition in some part of IDP Camp visited.
