Dana Air has announced that it will resume flight operations from November 9, 2022.
This was disclosed by the manager/chief operating officer, Ememobong Ettete, in a statement on Friday.
The development comes four months after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended Dana Air for multiple regulatory infractions, One of which was maintenance violations.
The authority said it suspended the operating licences of the company after “discovering that the airline is no longer in a position to meet its financial obligations and to conduct safe flight operations”.
The media had reported that the authority sanctioned the aviation company for operating several flights on the MD 80 fleet with no licensed captain.
However, in the statement, the air transport firm said it plans to resume flight operations after a successful conclusion of NCAA’s audit.
Speaking on the development, Ememobong Ettete, accountable manager/chief operating officer of Dana Air, said with a new management, the company is positioned to offer safe flights to travellers.
Also , the validity of unused tickets due to the firm’s absence from the market was extended by one year.
