As the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, deepens, the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, has said he has the power to stop the political ambition of the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom and those calling for his resignation.
He was quick to add that he opted against such a step to avoid cracks in the PDP.
Ortom and five other PDP governors had called for Ayu’s resignation after Atiku Abubakar emerged as the party’s presidential candidate.
The governors had said a particular zone could not produce PDP’s National Chairman and presidential candidate.
