Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that Laurence Stewart will join the club as a technical director to focus on football globally.
The role appears to indicate a focus on plans to form a multi-club model.
Stewart currently holds a role with AS Monaco as technical director and will join the Blues when his commitments to the Ligue 1 side end.
Before this Stewart was global head of scouting at Red Bull Soccer International and was previously head of performance analysis at Manchester City.
