Brazilian soccer legend Pele thanked his fans on his 82nd birthday.
In a short video on his Instagram account, Pele said he’s thankful to God and to his fans for everything he has received.
Earlier this year, the soccer star was hospitalized to undergo treatment for cancer. Pele has a tumour in his intestine, one in the liver and the beginning of another in a lung.
Widely considered to be one the greatest players of all time, Pele is the only soccer player to hold three World Cup winner’s medals, lifting the trophy with Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
He scored more than 1,000 goals in a glittering career and transcended sport to become one of the most recognisable faces on the planet.
