WIKE: “IT IS OUT OF ORDER FOR AYU TO MAKE COMMITMENT TO RESIGN IN 2023”
The governor of Rivers State , Nyesom Wike has expressed mixed feelings over the comments credited to the presidential candidate of the (PDP). Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku had reportedly said in a speech that what the north needs is a northerner, not an Igbo or a Yoruba person as next president of Nigeria.
Governor Wike said such a statement was a threat to the unity of Nigeria at a time when efforts should be concerted in giving every Nigerian a sense of belonging.
Governor Wike also took a swipe at the PDP national chairman, Senator Iyorciha Ayu.
He described as out of order the PDP Board of Trustees resolution that mandated Ayu to make a commitment that he would resign after the 2023 elections.
