2023 Election: Makinde Receives Thousands Of Decampees Into P.D.P. Fold

Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed optimism that the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state is in good standing ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Makinde who said this while receiving thousands of decampees from other political parties in a ceremony held at the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, vowed to sustain the tempo of good governance that has attracted highly rated and resourceful politicians from various political parties into the PDP fold.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees from the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) first female Senator from the state and former speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Sen. Monsurat Sumonu, pointed at the development policy and programs of the Makinde-led administration as the reason for their action and pledged their support for the continuity of dividend of democracy in the state beyond 2023.

While speaking on behalf of All Progressive Congress (APC), Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Joseph Tegbe said that the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state under the leadership of Makinde has engineered a clear road map for the development of the state.
