The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off its eight-month-old industrial action.
Lawyer to the union, Femi Falana who confirmed the development in a telephone conversation with plus tv news, however, said that there would be more details from the union’s president later in the day.
Falana had a few days ago assured that ASUU would call off the strike in days. This was also corroborated by the speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila
ASUU’s decision to call off the strike may have stemmed from its marathon meeting which started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday.
